A Letter From Our Founder & President
Happy Holidays!
For the last six years Urban Angels SF has supported the education of children from low-income families in San Francisco, all of whom were unhoused or living at the poverty level through its school supplies & backpack campaign benefiting 1,000 children each year.
This year, 2024, Urban Angels SF successfully launched Rise Up SF! its education support program which will provide high-impact, high-benefit tutoring in reading to thousands of SF children from low-income families in grades 1 to 4. In 2025 our goal is to expand this program from dozens of children to hundreds. And in 2026, we aim to expand it to include thousands of underserved children in SF.
Each child needs to be reading proficient by 5th grade. If they are, their chances of graduating from high school will be very high and from there the sky is the limit. For those who aren’t, their chances of graduating from high school are low and the consequences are grim.
In 2025, Urban Angels SF will partner with Air Reading, the provider of the best reading tutoring program, and Mission Housing Development Corp. which houses thousands of underserved children. Our team is in place. Our plan has a proven track record of success. All that is needed is your financial support.
Children reflect our hopes, our aspirations and our dreams for a better world. Rise Up SF will dramatically improve their lives and make these a reality for many of them.
